Reporters’ Roundup: SSA reorg, eliminating cyber vulnerabilities

Here\'s what Federal News Radio\'s reporters worked on today.

  • The Social Security Administration is launching a huge internal reorganization, because of budget pressure. The agency lost hundreds of millions of funding in the 2011 budget that Congress passed in April. Federal News Radio’s Ruben Gomez has details.
  • The Department of Homeland Security, together with two big names in the nonprofit cybersecurity world, are releasing some new tools to help organizations get rid of common software vulnerabilities. Instead of patching problems after they happen, DHS hopes agencies and businesses will be able to do a much better job of building security into their systems. Federal News Radio’s Jared Serbu has more.
