Just two weeks ago, the acting head of the Secret Service removed four long-time executives. That brought the number of assistant directors sacked or demoted to six. The moves follow a series of embarrassing incidents of agent misconduct and ineptitude, culminating in the resignation of director Julia Pierson. How does an agency with such a proud history get into this situation? Cheri Cannon is a federal employment attorney with the law firm Tully Rinckey.
