You may remember what became known as “the fake press conference” — when FEMA officials answered questions from other FEMA employees, posing as reporters. It set off a firestorm of criticism, some from Secretary Chertoff himself, who called it “one of the dumbest things” he’d ever seen. But that was back in 2007, and times have changed for FEMA. Just this week, the agency held a press conference for the folks on Twitter…encouraging everyone from reporters to citizens to get involved.
