The Marine Corps has a message for the information and cyber technology industries: Unless their new communications and computing solutions can be deployed in a tip-of-the-spear environment, don’t even bother to call. The website guambuildupnews.com is reporting that tech companies are on the island of Guam to learn more about the military’s buildup there. The Marines will be transferring 8,600 people from Okinawa. There are multimillion dollar IT contracts up for grabs, but Marine Corps Brigadier General Kevin Nally says they will only work with technologies that support Marines deployed to the most remote, difficult environments around the world.
