The Defense Health Agency is the newest of the combat support organizations that provide services to all of the military departments — it’s not even scheduled to reach full initial operating capability until later this year. But its leaders say they’re already beginning to find efficiencies by centralizing some of the health care support functions that were once operated independently by the military services.
On this week’s edition of On DoD, we get an update on the evolution of DHA from Joseph Marshall, the director of the agency’s business support directorate. Marshall talked with Jared Serbu about two of the health care shared services he directly oversees: medical logistics and facility support.
