Adobe more vulnerable to cyber attacks than Microsoft, report says

In June 2011 alone, Adobe software received more than 14,000 attacks, compared to only 1,500 attacks on Microsoft products.

Time was, Microsoft was the favorite target of hackers. Not so these days.

A new report by McAfee Labs finds that Adobe products are more vulnerable to malware and spyware attacks. PC Quest reports that in June 2011 alone, Adobe software received more than 14,000 attacks. Compare that to only 1,500 attacks on Microsoft products.

The reason? Adobe products are used everywhere in a variety of different ways — low-hanging fruit for cyber criminals.
