Dan Kent, the chief technology officer for Cisco Systems’ Federal Organization, joined Industry Chatter to discuss the uses and limits of cloud computing, and its various models, at federal agencies.

In his role at Cisco, Kent is “responsible for delivering new products and solutions to the federal market,” according to his company bio. The unit’s specialties include cloud computing, smart buildings, cybersecurity and collaboration.” Prior to his current role, Kent served as Cisco Federal’s director of systems engineering and also worked at Nortel for many years.

Kent’s primary role is to support federal customers by matching their mission and agency needs with scalable, secure IT solutions,” according to his company bio. “He is also responsible for ensuring government unique requirements are understood and met within Cisco product lines.”
