  • Not that this will help much
    As in the past, every time the Defense Department starts proposing cuts, the very next thing that happens is Congress lines up to put the money back. Heaven forbid you should cut something in this district or that state. They will catch all sorts of grief and be told in no uncertain terms that they need to revise their proposal with the money put back where it came from. In the end, the House will come up with an appropriations bill with more money in it than the Defense Department asked for. The Senate is little better, tacking on even more junk spending to secure bases in their states.
