    For the groups listed, this would likely be a great idea. Also single parent single child groups it would work well. For larger families of 3 or more, it would be a tremendous penalty. They have been able to keep health insurance prices down for families by grouping them in with couples. If they separate them, the premiums for families would go from about 2.5 times an individual policy to likely as much as 4 times or more higher than an individual policy. While a 1+1 policy would likely drop to about 2 times or less than an individual policy, depending on the actuaries.
