  • Money for Illegal Migrants to Get Welfare, but Not for COLAs
    Radar Tech
The democrat controlled Senate Judiciary Committee just voted to approve welfare benefits for illegal migrants that are granted amnesty citizenship...but there just isn't enough money to pay your Cost Of Living Allowance so that you don't get an inflationary retirement pay cut. Keep voting for democrats and see what comes next. Remember, you have to vote for it to see what's in it. Wait till you are forced out of FEHB and into one of the state registries. You get the government you vote for.

And then remember that it was Rep. Dave Camp (R-Mich) that introduced the legislation to do so.

  • Thank the Republicans for the mess
    Moderate
First, the CPI determines your COLA increase, not the politicians, unless the law is changed. I agree with you that the immigrants, whether legal or illegal, should not be given welfare. Hopefully, this will go nowhere. I will vote Democrat, because it is the Republicans who are forcing the sticking it to us. They will not allocate enough money to run the government. I heard the Air Traffic controllers got out of furloughs. Did you, since your function appears to be just as vital? It is tough for the controllers to work if the radar goes down.

  • Now they're taking the Fifth?
    contrarian
Folks, this is starting to get deep. Do you notice the lack of humility that was present during RRA-98 hearings? The swagger suggests they think they'll get pardons.

  • Just call it the "So What" defense
    contrarian
They just don't see that they did anything wrong. It's clear now the Tea Party groups were targeted. I wonder if the Repubs are smart enough to connect the dots and put the conspirators in jail. Something tells me they'll bungle this too. Everybody's mad at Boehner for jumping and saying IRS people should be in jail, but when Obama said the same thing about his enemies nobody cared. Strange times.

  • Are you serious?
    Moderate
Were they targeted? Are you sure? Do you even know how the non profit groups work? Do you know what the law is to make the determination? Do you know what interview questions to ask? Do you know whether the same interview questions are asked of other organizations applying for 501(c)(4) status? Do you work for the IRS or handle audits for taxpayers? In another words, do you know what you are writing about? I can truthfully write that I am not familiar with TEGE methods, but I know enough to want a serious investigation on the allegations instead of the garbage being given

  • The truth
    Moderate
As it turned out the RRA 98 hearings and the 10 deadly sins which resulted were full of baloney. You had very few government workers who actually did anything wrong. The result was the 10 deadly sins which really inhibit a good auditor from doing his (her) job. Most of the accusations are dismissed, but the fear is still there. And I was around for those hearings. They were garbage. As far as taking the fifth, I do not blame the lady for doing so. Who, in his (her) right mind wants to answer the loaded questions given by the donkeys in Congress. They need to ask serious investigative questions that will lead to the truth. If they do not know how to do so, then get subordinates to do so. They need to get to the truth and not have a bunch of pompous donkeys braying in order to get a spotlight.

  • Raiding The Piggy Bank

Federal Retiree's have endured a multitude of increases on necessities, rendering some unable to even purchase their life preserving medications. Rather than address these types of circumstances, the Federal Government actually takes money from Federal Retirement Accounts to cover the foolish expenditures made with money it does not have. The Federal Government needs to honor retirees, and stop spending money it doesn't have.
