Yes, it insults our intelligence to believe that "party line" which says that it was originated by lower level employees. I worked for the IRS for 33 years and no employee or group manager, on his/her own, would initiate such a project. Maybe a 2nd line manager, but it probably originated even higher up. I thought after Watergate and Nixon, that the IRS would not allow itself to "screw someone's political enemies". I apparently thought wrong.

  • Nixon was impeached
    Mc
Obomba should be impeached for this. It is an impeachable offense. Nixon did it, Obomba did it.

Nixon personally broke the law. What law did President Obama personally break here?

  • Much ado about not so much

Say I'm supposed to scrutinize 501(c)4 tax exempt applications to ensure that "social welfare" is truly their primary activity as opposed to political activity. Tea Party and Patriot are popular names for political groups, PACs, etc. Of course I'm going to look at them closely. IRS has taken enough heat for just the opposite - approving tax exempt status for political entities disguised as social welfare organizations. What wasn't right was asking for donor lists, which is prohibited. I worked at IRS for 37 years and can absolutely believe that first line managers and employees took this action on their own.

Ok, then they should be fired for singling out conservative groups. It would be the same if they singled out "Progressive" organizations. Witch hunt, clear and simple.
