After two years of doom and gloom, being under staffed and over worked I can honestly say I don't give a hoot anymore. A furlough would crush me financially, but I'll just join the day laborers and land some work lifting stuff each furlough day. And when my agency moves to terminate my employment for "breaking the rules", I'll make a You Tube video explaining how my government employer forced me to break their rules since being off from work 1 day a week or pay period makes it impossible to find legitimate work. Then I'll hit Facebook and the Twitterverse with the same story and I'll be sure to explain how, without breaking the rules I'd end up in default on my mortgage and my family of 4, cute little children and adorable dog included would end up homeless. I've got the pictures of the kids, the dog, the financials all ready to go for my Facebook page. I suggest all federal employers do the same if the furlough becomes a reality. You're not striking if they furlough you. You're not breaking the rules if you're telling the truth. Far too many Feds sat quietly, some even happily, expressing how they were happy to do their part with the salary freeze. They were all foolish for being so nice and I, and a few others who post here said so even then. Don't be foolish again. Don't be quiet again. Stand up for yourself if the Furlough happens.

Here's a fresh idea: Let's furlough all of the House and Senate. They are all wealthy and won't notice, as opposed to me who is about to lose my home thanks to these clowns.

  • Cuts Must Come

Furloughs will do little to cut the deficit, but cut it must be. Service on the debt is now $360 billion, or 9 percent of the deficit. Whole programs must be cut -- grants to private industry, the agriculture support programs, programs such as Head Start that do not work (I used to support Head Start), sell surplus GSA property and property the government has little business owning such as most of BLM holdings, reform Medicare and social security. Charge royalties for oil and natural gas pumped from federal lands -- same for rare earth elements. If we don't do it now, we'll be forced to do it later, with little time to plan.

Cut head start? That is for those too poor to send children to private pre school. So they fall behind the wealthy. Some might turn to crime. Then we can build more jails to house them at $35 to 50 thoousand dollars per inmate. And how would you reform medicare and social security? I do like the royalties idea.

  • Four More Wars!!!
    Mc
Obomba bombs Libya and the Touaregs head out of Libya so now we have FOUR MORE WARS!!! Isn't that great? Now we have AfriCOM, the Africa Command and we're sending soldiers into Chad, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger and probably Algeria pretty soon. Just remember, its OK for demoblicans to bomb people, its only bad when republicrats do it.

We may need to reduce our foreign policy commitments. And I do not agree that we should be in the cited places.

I wonder what costs more to our economy, furloughs to gov't workers, or bombing Libya to cause four more wars? Pretty sure its the wars in Chad, Mali, Burnkina Faso and Niger. Remember its ok for dems to drop bombs.
