  • TSA Propaganda

What an insulting piece of propaganda. Maybe TSA can explain how stealing our property is going to prevent another 9/11. Perhaps TSA can explain how any of this is keeping us safe when TSA screeners haven’t caught or even identified one terrorist after 11 years and over $80 billion in funding. We would like to know how having 104 TSA workers arrested in the last 24 months including 15 arrested for child sex crimes, 30 for theft, 12 for smuggling and one for murder is acceptable. Can TSA explain how having over a dozen screeners smuggling drugs and guns through our airports in the past 24 months is essential to airport security? Maybe TSA can explain how keeping a known pedophile, Thomas Harkin, working at Philadelphia airport six months after he was exposed is keeping our skies safe. Or how humiliating and exposing a dying woman’s feeding tube at the checkpoint despite her request for a private screening is preventing a terrorist attack. Can TSA explain how pulling the dress off of a 17 year old on a church trip and exposing her breasts to her classmates and everyone at the checkpoint is protecting her? Maybe TSA will answer why the agency hasn’t obeyed the court order to take public comment on the scanners and is now moving the dangerous x-ray units to small airports. No planes were hijacked between October 2001 and November 2010 without groping children, strip searching women and stealing our property. No malls have been bombed or attacks made on sports events and TSA is nowhere near those venues so they can't be credited with protecting airports either These abusive procedures weren’t necessary then and aren’t necessary now. This agency has become a national disgrace and is endangering more people than it protects. It is long past time for TSA to be replaced with a sensible system staffed by reputable workers, not criminals. TSA has done more damage to our freedoms than Al; Qaeda could have ever hoped to do. Irresponsible media reporting promoting TSA propaganda is slowing reform of this failed agency and making air travel less secure.

Fisher1949 is a lot more educated than you are, Jack, as he realizes that the TSA is nothing but smoke and mirrors.

  • TSA is an abusive, criminal agency

What a joke. Playbook my a**. Those of us who've been following this agency for years know what's going on. We know the TSA is an $8-Billion-a-year boondoggle designed to placate credulous Americans who think A Terrorist Is Hiding Around Every Corner. Take a look at the rational, evidence-based essays at TSA News Blog for a more accurate picture of what this agency does and what it represents.

as always, you guys rock... I think it's odd that TSA keeps the 99% guessing too - and believes they have done us poor travelers a favor. This has gotta mean the terrorists have won. Contract this function to a private company (sleazy, profit oriented contractor) and see how much this problem changes...

  • TSA fails RISK-BASED Analysis
    Freedom To Travel USA fttusadotorg
There are many fallacies with the TSA assertions. 1) There is no measurable threat based on historical trends. The introduction of scanners (which violate the 4th amendment by performing an inch-by-inch search of one's person, as opposed to a non=invasive metal detector which actually detects metal for example) and criminal touching of Americans (against the law in all 50 states for unwanted touching of genitals, buttocks, and breasts - from simple battery to sexual assault) was supposed to "prevent" suicidal airline passengers with WORKING non-metallic bombs. On US domestic flights, there have been no fatalities from this class of passenger for over 50 years. Globally, there has not been a successful attack or fatality since 1997, when 1 person was killed and the plane landed safely (Phillipines flight). The math says the "threat" is not a "risk". 2) The Journal of Homeland Security and Emergency Management has published two articles. They concluded: a) People who now avoid flying, due to the TSA procedures, may die at anywhere from 125 - 500 deaths a year by driving instead of flying. b) The ROI of the scanner program would require 1.6 to 3.2 successful or measured attacks PER YEAR for a 90% confidence level that the money spent would be in the realm of ROI measurements in other government security programs which do include loss of life and put a value on dying from attacks. 3) Bayes Theorem: In short, this is a math theorem that shows doing random action to prevent a small probability is fruitless. Think of it this way. If metal detectors were not used 100% of the time, would you have confidence flying in the 1970s when there were 5 hijackings a month with guns? The scanners and groping are not even planned to be deployed 100% of the time when done, if they ever get the budget for this anti-American approach. Therefore, the probability of stopping any small probability threat is super-diminished. In short, the terrorists have won when the TSA destroys American values....and to be hated more than the IRS says something!
