  • Not really liking this war on FSAs
    contrarian
I need it to go up to $10K not down to $2,500. So much for not sticking it to the middle class.

  • ObamacCare is the reason our benefit was cut in half!
    DJG
First, to the author of the article, let's be direct and honest, the article should be titled, "Obamacare cuts federal FSA benefit in half!" Then, to those who may be diappointed by this benefit cut (also a huge tax increase of about $1200 per year per employee!), all I can say is we told you so, you likely voted for Obama and you were on notice for 2 years of this benefit cut. This is only the tip of the iceberg of increased costs, last year it was higher health care premiums, this year too, and more to come.

  • Confused about OTC coverage
    cetuva
The author states that for 2013, there is no coverage for OTC drugs. However, both the FSAFEDs website and a FSAFEDS benefits counselor state that there is no change from 2012 - ie that with a prescription, OTC drugs will still be covered. Can anyone clarify this?

  • OTC drugs are covered if "prescribed" by physician
    DJG
For example, OTC asprin is covered is doc prescribes daily asprin for heart condition.

  • So the same as 2012

And in contrast to what the article says.

  • The middle class takes another one for Obama
    BillyBoy
Besides paying my increased heath insurance premiums due to Obama Care now FSA is cut. With a child who is a cancer survivor, my yearly medical expenses exceded what I made after college. Federal employees are being slowly sacrificed on the altar of the Affordable Care Act. Guess it is affordable if you a rich like the present resident of the white house.
