  • what exactly happened?

    OK, what exactly happened? The EPA has just now discovered that months ago someone(s) hacked into their database and looked at Social Security numbers? Does EPA know what else they saw besides the SSNs? Who were the 2700 non-employees whose SSN numbers were viewed, and why did EPA have those non-employee numbers?

    I admit I am speculating as I have no direct knowledge, but if the EPA has contractors who are not corporations, it needs those numbers to issue 1099's.
