Well life will go on, in the darkest deepest parts of the oceans, in the Ice Caps (what is left of them) and Mono Lakes deadly water. I am not sure the rest of us will not say the world is over when the Mint replaces the $1.00 bill with the $10,000.00 bill. Doing that will pay off the $15T debt in only 47 years (assumes we pay it down at $10,000 per second). That might make the Chineese happy. But trust me you wont be happy with $50,000 bread or $45,000 beer in a dart bar (before tip) when your federal salary is frozen to 2010 levels until 2018... I think the Inca knew that the new world would be found and screw up civilization like they never dreamed.

  • True Love?
    Linda
Kim Kardashian will and has found true love, will it last more than 2 weeks is the question. I predict that the Bush Tax Cuts will be extended as is, the sequestration will be extened indefinately by some legislative slight of hand and the tax code will never be simplified. (Look what happend last time, it tripled in size!). And a bonus prediction, the housing prices will rebount between 2017 and 2025. Of course this could all be wrong, any other guesses out there?

  • Predictions
    Rob
I agree the Bush tax cuts will be extended for all as will the 2% payroll tax deduction. I also predict Obama will win re-election by just a few votes in a few key swing states. Congress will be split between the two parties and Obama will ramp up his 'imperial presidency' by continuing to bypass congress so he can "transform" America into HIS vision. You think this country is divided now?

I think you have no clue as to who will win the election. You are just flinging words. However, your friend George did exactly that in 2000 and 2004. And speaking of imperial presidency just look at George and his war in Iraq as well as his tax cuts for the wealthy. Let us not forget the "patriot" act. Since the Repubs are the party of no actions, Obama must use legal executive power to get things done.

  • Nah, just realistic
    Moderate
I have a feeling the Bush tax cuts will be gone for the wealthy (250,000 is not wealthy). The question is whether the rest of the country will get the cuts or not. If the Repubs do not back down on this issue, the Dems will have a great political issue. I hope the 2% social security reduction stops or the money is replaced out of the general fund. Social security will run out of money sooner rather than latter if this continues. I agree with you about housing. Who knows.

  • Budgets? We don't need no stinkin' Budgets!
    dailycheese
How the government has been able to operate for years without a budget is an interesting concept that I've now emulated. Each month, I glance at my monthly bank statement and see that I have still have money being deposited. I keep applying for credit cards and they keep getting approved. I bring home around $40,000 per year and spend around $100,000. When the credit card folks call, I just tell them I'm on the government plan. I give them my grandchildrens names and tell them to collect it from them.

  • Hope you are joking
    Linda
Hey Dailey Cheese, I hope you are joking about spending $100,000 on Credit Cards and bringing home $40,000. If you are not then I will be supporting you on medicaid in your old age as you will have have nothing but a social security check/or pension. At the rate people are doing exactly what you said, there will not be enough tax dollars to support the cost and the support will go away. When is hard to say. If you are lucky, it will be after you are gone, if not.... I hope you like dog food, because that is all you will be able to buy. But, then, I will be there with you when my taxes are 90% of my income.

  • Good animal food is not cheap
    Moderate
Hey Linda. I do not know the price of good dog food, but my cat food (Science Diet, a top brand) retails, when not discounted for about $2 per pound for the largest size. Of course, I could buy cheaper stuff, but it would be bad for my cats.
