I believe it was GEN Wesley Clark, after he retired that summed it up in regards to one former US president. On Kosovo stating something like, You do NOT tell the enemy your plans and what you are going to do. You go after the snake anyway you can, then you cut the head off the snake... I feel confident his outlook on things is a primary reason he retired. It is so politically incorrect these days to fire bomb bad guy hideouts you know, let alone actually go after a bad guy protected by civil rights laws. I bet had Bin Laden been brought in alive and tried in a American civil court, he would have been acquitted. Surly 90% of Hollywood would have cried it was not his fault, he grew up in the slave state of Saudi, that America supports, he is distraught, it is not his fault. So those FBI or CIA folks that had their TSP accounts hacked, may be a bit angry, but not a thing is going to fix this. So America, we either assimilate as a food stamp and welfare state, or we go after the head of the snake. Your choice in November. I will be in a country that still practices torture to extract confessions and extended prison sentences for using Skype.

sounds like you want to go back to the party that loves to start wars for false reason (Iraq), cares about the wealthy at the expense of the rest of us, and gives us the Bush and the Republicans Depression. I'll stick with the party the cares more about the regular people.

Actually Mod, I would like to see them all used as fodder in a pork feed lot. Boehner (R) can hold hands with Pelosi (D) as they walk into the chopper (or unemployment line as the case may be). But also please remember Mod, it was a democrat president that bombed a sovereign nation to take the heat off his little investigation on the white house game of swallow the leader.

I, for one, do not wish to alter America to be more like those "slave states". Torturing to extract information does not assure valid information. When it comes to civil rights, none beat the USA. I despise the notion that, despite ever increasing instances of individuals and organizations caring little for their society and more for themselves, that we have to sacrifice more and more of our liberties. We either have an imperfect society in which we are satisfied, or we have an imperfect society in which we are not. Every law written was done so to counter a new anti-social behavior. From criminal to environmental to social. Surely we have gone too far in writing laws but not, perhaps, far enough in enforcing them.

TSP has been arrogant in all its dealings for a long time. Must be plum political jobs because they are not responsive to the account holders but bow to Congress. They have a deaf ear to those of us who want a better plan or more options. I can't wait to transfer my money out of TSP. And I'm glad to see the arrogant one get their just desserts.

Go ahead and transfer. You'll end up paying higher fees.

That's an option to consider...or another option- leave our 401Ks to be used again to keep the government running when Congress once again fails to either raise the debt ceiling or do anything else they are supposed to do! Since federal employee pay is a such a political football, I now can not trust that our TSP accounts are risk free from government raids, possibly this year and/or sometime in the future. Something to consider in the decision making equation.

I agree that it is criminal for the government to use our money for political purposes. But we lost no money by it.
