  • Um, the 26th is listed as the holiday on OPM's website
    Just me
Not to put too fine a point on it, OPM has not changed its guidance on the 26th being treated as a holdiay for pay and leave purposes.

Apparently not signed yet. White House Executive Clerk's Office (202.456.2226) and White House website (http://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/pending-legislation) both still reporting it as Pending.

Thanks FERS Fed. Here is what I found on HR 2055. "H.R. 2055: Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2012 112th Congress: 2011-2012 Making appropriations for military construction, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and related agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2012, and for other purposes. Sponsor: Rep. John Culberson [R-TX7] Status: Passed Congress. Next: Having passed in identical form in both the House and Senate, this bill now awaits the signature of the President before becoming law. [Last Updated: Dec 22, 2011 12:01PM]"

  • Budget
    Linda
The news was saying that Congress will vote on extending the 2 month SSA Holiday. I understand from the Budget Person next to me that the Budget had been passed for the rest of the fiscal year, but Senate wanted to change something with the 2% SSA Holiday????? And it wasn't signed. So not sure if the budget will be for two months or the whole year? Who knows with thoses guys!

  • Two Different Issues
    FERS Fed
The only thing that the 2012 Omnibus bill and payroll tax cut extension legislation have in common is the fact that neither has been signed by the President yet, at least as of 11:15 a.m. EST 12/23/2011.

Not Useless in my book. I believe it, and will pass this along to my kids. Getting your kids to argue with you logically is a great thing.

Some of us are not at work because we ran out of leave, but because we are the only ones in the office without use or lose and "somebody has to stay here". Even when the entire office has use or lose headed into September, management uses a senority system and the same employees get to take Christmas time off every year. So they insist the rest take leave in October or November and they are always at the helm in late December. And before someone feels the need to say "they have earned it", I am talking about staff doing the same job at the same grade....with only a few years difference in time in service. I guess that means the rest of us have to be on board for at least 29 years before its our turn to get first crack at Christmas leave.
