  • As far as the medical helicopters go....
    There are more unnecessary flights than necessary ones. Lazy corner-cutting ambulance services call medical helos in for non-life threatening injuries, many times even in cases when the ambulance could get to the hospital faster - ultimately delaying treatment. I saw a medical helo called in one time in Virginia for a car accident victim with an injured leg. It took 30 minutes for the helo to arrive. The scene of the accident was in plain view of the hospital - less than two miles away. When you fly unnecessarily, you get people killed unnecessarily. Pretty simple.
