  • how safe are we in the TSP?
    jwinca
Recent S&P news about possibly downgrading the safety of federal bonds to AA instead of AAA is quite frightening and confusing. What does this mean to those of us who are retired with substantial investments in the TSP including the "safe haven" G fund? I worked hard in federal service to the public and saved diligently to be able to retire when I was eligible and begin another "career" not focused on earnings but creativity. I am financially a moderate risk taker and read that commodities could be the safe haven of the future, but the TSP has no such fund.........please give us advice on how safe the G fund really will be if the government rating is downgraded.
