What I want to know is: what is so inappropriate about discussing settlement talks? If ever there was a "need to know" situation, this is one. There are a lot of potential whistleblowers out there and they need to know what they are going to be up-against and, if they do proceed, what kind of settlement they can reasonably expect. Open discussion and disclosure is never a bad thing, unless, possibly, you are the offending party. But in that case, who cares? They should not have been so dishonest in the first place.
