  • Hiring
I have been applying on CPOL for 7 years. The only thing I have gotten was a three month summer job and then let go. Here in Kentucky at Fort Knox, the only way to get a GS job is to know the hiring offical. It is not what you know but who you know. If you do not think this is true you can ask anyone who has been trying to get on. You can even ask some of the ones hired and they will tell you they knew the hiring offical and got them on. I am a retired 20 year Army and can't get a job on post. I think something is wrong here when a Medic with no experience in Transportation gets a job over me who has five yeras experience, and he told me he got the job due to he lives next door to the hiring offical. The hiring practices at Fort Knox are monoplozied by "THE GOOD OLE BOY SYSTEM" and feel it should be looked into. The other thing is the HRC palns on going outside post to fill their positions without even going into the VA for employees. There is a large pool of people in here that would love a chance of a job rather than them going outside the Gate.
