I believe Professor Adams needs to crawl back into the Ivory Tower most academics reside in, the one completely divorced from reality. Adams makes a ridiculous comparison to his tenure at OMB in the early 90s. I think the situation is a little different today. We weren't fighting two full scale ground wars for starters. The most egregious comment he made however was referring to Saddam Hussein as a "speed bump" in 2003. Not only is such an assinine comment dismissive and disrepsective of the soldiers and marines who rode over that "speed bump" it is patently untrue. Eight years later we are still mired in a situation from which no end is in sight. Hardly a speed bump Mr Adams. As I said at the beginning, go back to the ivory tower in academic la la land and confine your musings to the classroom where students are paying to hear them.
