You will never have enough police to protect everyone. One venue to study is allowing those federal employees who have a concealed weapons permit to actually carry while working. Besides myself (retired police officer) I have 5-6 other individuals in my office who have full carry permits. We have no security or metal detectors in our building and we have zero federal police here to stop an armed intruder. Obviously additional training & standards would be needed but those who are licensed to carry would add an extra layer of prevention against an armed intruder(s). Again, this would need to be studied and is not a "fix-all" for the numerous security issues federal employees face daily. The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun - simple but so true. Have a great day, thanks for reading!
