  • Investors make slight shifts to higher-risk TSP funds

Given the fact that Feds really get no help managing their investment portfolios from TSP.gov – many of us lost our “life savings” from 2007 to 2009. Because of that we have had to teach ourselves how to move our funds around in order to make the most of the lemons in our portfolio. I am aggressively invested in the I fund and recovered everything I lost in 2007 – 2009 at the beginning of November. I have subscribed to a number of “tutorial” websites and I am tracking “moving averages”, “knee-in-the-curves”, and trying to figure out when I need to “run to the G-fund”. Given the fact that I may not get what I am expecting from Social Security and that my paltry pension could be reduced at any time after I retire – I am very motivated to figure out how I can make the most money I can for my retirement income.
