    Finally, but there's still a problem that will still continue. If you don't know anyone high enough on the food chain, you won't get in. It's who you know, not what you know. I've worked for the Navy for 9 years as a contractor in WDC, I always wanted to get a gov't job. As a contractor I've always been on time, stayed late when needed, don't smoke, and I don't goof off. The issue I see is that I don't have a college degree, some I have seen that do have a college degree have been a waste. They come and go as they please, refuse doing anything extra that is not part of their job description, and use their job as a social event. I loved working for the Navy but was laid off recently by my contractor due to lack of funding, I enjoyed what I did and that's all that mattered.
