  • Removable storage devices
Organizations cannot effectively secure their information assets when client devices include local and/or removable storage capabilities, like disk drives and thumb drives. CIOs and CSIOs need to recognize this, and move to thin client environments for all users with the exception of those who have a priority need for local storage. The press is saturated with stories about this vulnerability. How many times must VA have data walk before it addresses this area? Attempting to encrypt 250,000+ workstations, laptops, and other remote devices is expensive and difficult to accomplish and maintain over time. Storing data in protected server bunkers is more more efficient and effective.
