  • Income Tax Increase on Federal Workers
    o2bxfed
I find it appalling that Congress views a Federal employee pay freeze as OK, but would not consider a 1.9% tax increase on people in general earning the same amounts of money. That is effectively what the proposed pay freeze would be. Is that any way to show support for those fight 2 wars, the disaster in the Gulf, and protecting our borders? What ever happened to the 'no new taxes on people earning less than $250,000." None of those frozen Federal salaries are earning that much.

  • costs going up?
    contrarian
Firstly, is everybody willing to admit that this will drive costs up? Then we can realize that for some people this will be a huge benefit. And for them it will be good. I wonder how the mechanics will work for college grads working, travelling the globe or just sitting at home covered under FEHBP? I'm assuming that the FEHBP will be cheaper than purchasing an alternative private sector plan, but is that necessarily so?
