Three civilians who reported problems at the mortuary that handles soldiers’ remains will be honored this week.

The Washington Post reported James G. Parsons Senior, Mary Ellen Spera and William Zwickarowski will by recognized as public servants of the year by the Office of Special Counsel. All three employees at Dover Air Force Base were wrongfully punished for blowing the whistle but have since been reinstated.

Their actions led to an 18-month investigation that revealed missing body parts and poor management at the base. Parsons, Spera and Zwickarowski will be honored this afternoon at the Reserve Officers Association.
