Do you know what a personal electronic health record is? If your answer is “no,” you’re not alone. PHRs can let people directly manage their own health information, like their health history, test results, prescription and vaccination information and allergies. Fearing that most Americans are in the dark when it comes to health IT, the federal government is proposing to develop a Web site to make people more aware. The Web site would feature facts about PHR systems and information about privacy policies to help people make informed decisions about their health management.
