The Pentagon is reforming the way it buys weapons. It’s part of the Defense Secretary Robert Gates’ plan to save billions of dollars.

But Pierre Sprey, who co-authored the Pentagon Labyrinth: Ten Short Essays to Help You Through It, says the Pentagon is not doing enough to sort through the bad weapons from the good ones. Sprey has worked for DoD as an employee and consultant on weapons systems.

He says defense leaders are catering to defense contractors instead of men and women in uniform.

This interview is part of the DorobekINSIDER Pentagon Labyrinth series, featuring discussions with authors of the book Pentagon Labyrinth.
