The Department of Health and Human Services is expected to issue a final rule tomorrow detailing broader authorities to combat waste, fraud and abuse in federal medical insurance programs. The 461-page rule comes on the heels of HHS sending its annual report to Congress. HHS says it returned more than $4 billion to the government and prosecuted 726 defendants. Federal News Radio’s Jason Miller says this shows the accomplishments of the interagency task force and how the new rule will improve the recovery processes.
