Breakthrough in Stuxnet worm dilemma

Symantec reports that Dutch experts have made key discoveries about the Internet virus.

The Stuxnet worm that infiltrated the Iranian nuclear test facility last month has puzzled cybersecurity experts for months. Now there may be a breakthrough.

Dutch experts discovered the worm requires the industrial control system from at least one of two specific vendors — one stationed in Finland the other in Tehran, Iran.

Symantec reports the Dutch experts have found the purpose of the Stuxnet code: The worm is able to manipulate the industrial control system frequencies to hijack codes and modify their behavior.
