The author of a book about the war in Afghanistan says the Defense Department’s decision to buy almost 10,000 copies of “Operation Dark Heart” and destroy them was not about classified information. In this week’s edition of the Hunt with Federal News Radio National Security Correspondent JJ Green, Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel Tony Shaffer says it was about revenge, Wikileaks and his support of fired-General Stanley McChrystol. Military officials say Shaffer’s book was a threat to national security because it revealed information about operations that are classified and on-going.
