The White House is calling on lawmakers to return to Congress and pass an FAA Spending bill. But it may be falling on deaf ears.
Keith Laing, a staff writer with The Hill newspaper, joined the Federal Drive to discuss if — and how — lawmakers could pass a spending bill, as most have left town for the August recess.
Laing said though some lawmakers have dismissed calls for a bill to provide backpay for workers affected by the partial shutdown, there may be a solution for furloughed employees.
Laing said the FAA Managers Association announced Wednesday it was creating a relief fund to help pay those who have been furloughed. The group is taking public donations.
