The Pentagon Budget

The Pentagon is going in a different direction when it comes to the 2010 budget. Secretary Robert Gates will unveil it today. Spokesman Geoff Morrell said the Secretary would spend the weekend working on finishing touches and making recommendations. He’s promised intense scrutiny for expensive weapons systems and has kept budget deliberations close to the vest. President Barack Obama asked Congress in February to increase the Pentagon’s budget by 4 percent to $533.7 billion.
