The Defense Department has launched a public challenge to develop mobile apps. DOD wants apps that aid in learning science, technology, engineering and math. The contest runs from April 2 to June 4.

DoD’s Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative is running the app challenge. Kristy Murray, the initiative director, said the app would benefit both K through 12 education and the Defense Department. DOD will announce winners at its i-fest Conference this summer.
