NIST releases new smartgrid cybersecurity guide

Cybersecurity Update – Tune in weekdays at 30 minutes past the hour for the latest cybersecurity news on the Federal Drive with Tom Temin and Amy Morris (6-10 a.m.) and the DorobekINSIDER with Chris Dorobek (3-7 p.m.). just released version one of the smart grid cybersecurity standards, and the guide is over 500 pages. Marianne Swanson is a Senior Advisor for Information System Security at the NIST, and she joined the DorobekInsider with more information. You can listen to the interview here.

  • If you get an email asking about your cybersecurity opinions at work, it may not be spam! The Office of Personnel Management is working with the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education to conduct a survey now through October 11th. OPM says if you receive an email inviting you to participate in this survey and you are not currently performing cybersecurity work, go to the first page of the survey and click “no” to the first question.
