The Labor Department is offering a new online tool to help stem improper unemployment insurance payouts.

The Fraud Tips and Leads Gateway will allow members of the public to report fraud in the system and allow faster access for states to investigate prosecute offenders.

Jane Oates, the assistant secretary of employment and training administration at DoL, joined In Depth with Francis Rose to discuss details of the program.

Oates discussed how the new tool works and how stemming fraud will help the agency free up capital for other projects.
