One hundred years have passed since the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank in the North Atlantic. This week, the Government Printing Office is highlighting transcripts of a century-old Senate probe to get to the bottom of the disaster. Many of these documents are available in libraries across the country.

“We can showcase the value and significance of that these historical documents that these libraries manage and make available freely to the American public as part of their collections,” said GPO’s Superintendent of Documents Mary Alice Baish.

She told The Federal Drive with Tom Temin and Emily Kopp Friday that the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic has renewed public interest in the event and its aftermath.
