Today is the last day on the job for Joe Jordan. He’s leaving as administrator of Federal Procurement Policy today and he starts his new job at FedBid on Tuesday. Tom Temin from Federal Drive says the job Jordon is leaving is a tough one.

Joe Jordan, the outgoing administrator of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy, believes agencies have only scratched the surface of the administration’s campaign to buy smarter. Today is Jordan’s last day at OFPP. He says strategic sourcing is among the most important initiatives to help agencies stretch their dollars farther. In part 2 of their interview, Jordan tells executive editor Jason Miller about the impact of the buying smarter campaign and strategic sourcing.

The Office of Personnel Management will look at the pros and cons of a self-plus-one option in the Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan. Congress put a provision in the budget deal to allow OPM to examine the possibilities of a self-plus-one. Federal News Radio Senior Correspondent Mike Causey writes about that option and says not everyone is a big fan of the idea.
