Joe Jordan, the outgoing administrator of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy, believes agencies have only scratched the surface of the administration’s campaign to buy smarter. Today is Jordan’s last day at OFPP. He says strategic sourcing is among the most important initiatives to help agencies stretch their dollars farther. The Office of Personnel Management will look at the pros and cons of a self-plus-one option in the Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan. Congress put a provision in the budget deal to allow OPM to examine the possibilities of a self-plus-one. Federal News Radio Senior Correspondent Mike Causey writes about that option and says not everyone is a big fan of the idea.
