The Office of Management and Budget released its annual update to the A-11 budget guidance. Usually, your typical 778-page cure for insomnia. But this year under the performance section, OMB is taking a different approach. Shelley Metzenbaum tells reporter Jason Miller in their exclusive interview about how she hopes the updated A-11 guidance gives agencies a bigger bang for their buck when it comes to performance management.

The Agriculture Department wants recipients of SNAP, better known as food stamps, to receive more than white bread and canned string beans. So it’s making a big change in the SNAP program allowing recipients to use the assistance to buy food at farmers markets.
