No one else in government can pass a budget and/or budget item. Not you, not me. Only a congressman/senator/president. The debt is their fault, Republican and Democrat. Diverting the public's attention to the federal workforce as the main problem is something that can only work if the majority of the union's inhabitants are ignorant. There, I said it. We are nation bending and on the verge of breaking under the burden of unethical (party-first) politicians and ignorant constituents who conveniently find the politician that excuse them from responsibility for their situation and lays it at the feet of others. Blame, blame, blame. Both parties do it. Unfortunately, there are enough ignorant people for both parties to deepen this debacle.

Washington has us over a barrel since they all do not come up for re-election at the same time. Wish we could force an across the board re-election in 2014. Anyone check the employees salaries and benefits compared to what BAE charges the Govt? We will always have ships, so why do we contract it out? Won't we still need those same people? remember, He could have chose stop un-fund free cell phones (6 billion/year) or Public TV/radio (450 million a year) or "Green Energy programs" that nobody cares about (60 billion a year), or cut from un-needed Gov agancies such as the EPA. Sounds like Congress has taken on a new platform - having the nearly 1 MILLION federal civilian employees pay them and the Government for the right to work and have a job. I guess I'll be happy as long as my pay check shows a positive $ amount..... RIDICULOUS!!!

Hey, I'm FINE with losing my job as long as Goldman Suchs gets their Christmas bonuses next year. The Bernanke is printing up 85 billion dollars PER MONTH and giving it to the banks. You never hear anything about that. The continuing wars and more money to the banks, that's where the money's going. Sure, reform entitlements (if they can actually do it) but how about bringing our military home from Germany, Italy, Japan, etc. and STOP giving money to the banks. Re-impose Glass-Steagall or its curtains for this country.
