DoD slow to codify some interagency contracting standards

Despite a big policy push from the administration, some agencies have lagged in implementing guidance dealing with interagency contracting, according to a recent report from the Government Accountability Office. Still, GAO said the creation of a policy framework by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy had gone a long way toward ameliorating some of the issues that landed interagency contracting on the watchdog agency's high-risk list eight years ago, such as duplication and unclear lines of authority between agencies.

    in 1960 about the military industrial complex. What he was warning us about was the overextended and overused use of contractors and contracts instead of government workers and government control of contracts for necessary goods and services. So, it's been 53 years and DoD still hasn't gotten it right. In fact, DoD now owes the need for hundreds of billions in sequestration to it's reckless use of contractors and contracts. More accurately, it's not DoD alone, it's the greed of Congress and our elected officials who line their pockets with the grease that government contractors provide. That is why DoD government employees pay is on the chopping block and not contractors.
