Jim Flyzik is the President of TheFlyzikGroup www.theflyzikgroup.com . The company specializes in Strategic Business Consulting, Performance Based Contracting Consulting and Training and Thought Leadership media events. The company assists small, medium and large companies in providing world-class government services. Jim also serves as the Chairman of the Information Technology Association of America Committee on Homeland Security. Jim also hosts the monthly radio program, The Federal Executive Forum on WFED 1500 AM and www.federalnewsradio.com .

Jim served over 27 years in the federal government. He served as Senior Advisor to Governor Ridge in the White House Office of Homeland Security (OHS). He provided advice to OHS on the National Strategy and Information Management in support of the OHS mission. From February 1998 until December 2002, Jim also served as the Vice Chair of the Federal Government CIO Council overseeing numerous governmentwide IT initiatives. He was also a member of the President's Critical Infrastructure Protection Board.

Prior to this, from August 1997 until April 2002, Jim was the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Information Systems and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Department of the Treasury. He provided oversight, strategic planning and management direction on over $3.0 billion in annual information technology and information infrastructure programs within Treasury and its fourteen Bureaus. Jim also served as the Acting Assistant Secretary for Management for the Treasury Department from January 20, 2001 until February 8, 2002. In that role he provided oversight of all Treasury bureaus and served as the principal policy advisor to the Secretary and Deputy Secretary on matters involving the internal management of the Department and its bureaus. Jim received the Secretary Certificate of Appreciation on February 12, 2002 for his efforts during this transition period.

Prior to his Treasury positions, Jim worked for 15 years at the U.S. Secret Service where he held key IT management positions, including the Chief of the Communications Division, providing world class telecommunications in support of Secret Service tactical and operational requirements.
Jim served as Team Leader on Vice President Gore's National Performance Review (NPR) Information Technology Team. Following this assignment, he was selected as Chairman of the Government Information Technology Services Working Group, to implement the NPR Information Technology recommendations and coordinate the government services portion of the National Information Infrastructure (NII). He was given the prestigious Eagle Award as the government information technology executive of the year in 1994, a Meritorious Presidential Rank Award in 1995, the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Award for Excellence in Information Technology in 1996, the AFFIRM Award for Outstanding Service to the Citizens in 1997, the Industry Advisory Council Award for Special Achievements and Leadership in 1997, the AFFIRM IRM Executive of the Year Award in 1998, and the Distinguished Rank Executive Award from President Clinton in 1999. In 2001 the Federation of Government Information Processing Councils presented him the John J. Franke award for outstanding government service. In March 2002, Jim was selected by the Federal CIO Council to receive the Azimuth Award as the Government Executive of the Year.

Jim has extensive public speaking experience and frequently serves as a featured speaker at industry events. He has developed, and currently teaches part-time, a graduate level course on Information Systems Security and Risk Assessment at the University of Maryland. Jim was given the Stanley J. Drazek Excellence in Teaching Award in 1998 by the University of Maryland.

Jim has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Computer Science and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Maryland with an area of concentration in Information Systems Management.



Karl O. Krumbholz
Director Network Services Programs-ITS/GSA



As the Director of Network Services Programs, Karl Krumbholz is responsible for GSA telecommunications development programs and the management of wide area and regional contracts providing services to approximately 135 Government agencies and 11 regions. His responsibilities include the Networx Program, FTS2001 and Crossover contracts, Metropolitan Area Acquisitions, Connections, SATCOM II, Federal Relay, and regional local services contracts.

Mr. Krumbholz began his career at the GSA Federal Technology Service in 2002 as the Deputy Assistant Commissioner for Service Development with additional responsibilities as the Networx Program Manager. Prior to the award of the Networx contracts, he was assigned as Acting Assistant Commissioner for Service Development and Service Delivery, Federal Technology Service. His responsibilities included the development of new programs and the management of ongoing contracts to include the FTS2001/Crossover Program and activities associated with Networx transition planning and post award contract management and operations. Upon establishment of the Federal Acquisition Service, Mr. Krumbholz was selected as the Director of Network Services Programs under the Office of Integrated Technology Services and promoted to the Senior Executive Service.

Prior to coming to GSA, Mr. Krumbholz worked for eight years in the Information Technology (IT) sector for BDM and TRW as a Director and program manager of IT and Telecommunications services. His business unit provided test and evaluation, technical and program management, and transition management support to the GSA Federal Technology Service, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and other DoD Services and Agencies. He provided technical and program management support to DISA in the implementation of the Global Information Grid, in transitioning DoD from FTS2000 to FTS2001, and in the transition of telecommunications services to the Defense Information System Network (DISN). He assisted GSA and the Interagency Management Council's FTS2001 Transition Task Force in tracking and coordinating the overall progress of the FTS2001 transition for all Government Agencies.

Prior to joining BDM, Mr. Krumbholz served 26 years as an officer, pilot, and acquisition manager in the U.S. Navy. His career included operational tours in aviation squadrons and aboard ship including squadron command, three assignments in acquisition management at the Naval Air Systems Command, and as Director of Naval Armaments at the U.S. Mission to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Brussels, Belgium. Mr. Krumbholz retired from the Navy as a Captain (06).

Mr. Krumbholz holds a BS from the U.S. Naval Academy, an MS in Aeronautical Engineering from The Naval Postgraduate School, and an MBA from The George Washington University. He attended the Program Manager's course at the Defense Systems Management College and the Advanced Executive Program at the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University. He is a 2005 FED 100 Awardee.




Margie Graves
Acting CIO, Dept of Homeland Security


Margaret H. Graves was selected in September, 2008, to serve as the U. S. Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO). As the Deputy CIO, she oversees an IT portfolio of $5.4 billion in programs. In addition, Ms. Graves manages the operations of the Office of the Chief Information Officer, which covers the functional areas of Applied Technology, Enterprise Architecture, Data Management, IT Security, Infrastructure Operations, IT Accessibility, Budget and Acquisition.

Prior to her selection as Deputy Chief Information Officer, Ms. Graves served as the Executive Director of the Enterprise Business Management Office within the DHS Office of the CIO. She developed and executed IT Portfolio strategies in alignment with the DHS Enterprise Architecture and established business processes for Capital Planning and Investment Control, departmental IT budget reviews and acquisition reviews. She also served as the Deputy Program manager for the Border and Transportation Security IT Integration Program. This program established the business case and the operational foundation for the current Infrastructure Transformation Program which is the DHS roadmap for consolidating and securing the IT Infrastructure including networks, data centers, e-mail, wireless services, desktop services, and help desk services.

Ms. Graves has 20 years of experience in the management consulting industry where she held executive positions and also performed consulting engagements for clients. She has experience in the areas of systems engineering, business process reengineering, strategic planning, financial management, mergers and acquisitions and venture capital planning. She worked for several firms in the National Capital Region such as Technology Applications, Inc., Advanced Technology, Inc., and Planning and Research Corporation. She dedicated 10 years with A.T. Kearney, Inc. working for clients in the chemical, utility and medical services industries as well as holding positions in financial and administrative management.

Ms. Graves holds a M.B.A. from the University of Virginia Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration and a B.S. in Chemistry, also from the University of Virginia.




David Smith
Chief Technology Officer, Citrix Federal

David Smith brings more than twelve years of engineering and management experience to Citrix, and is the CTO of Citrix Federal. David has worked with government customers to implement Citrix application delivery solutions in support of their continuity of operations, information security, green IT, and telework initiatives. David is a regular speaker at industry events and is a spokesperson around technology initiatives such as Data Center Virtualization, Network Optimization, Disaster Recovery, Telework, Cloud Computing, Thin Client, and IT Consolidation.

Prior to Citrix, David worked in the NASA Software Assurance Technology Center leading efforts to improve the security and reliability of applications developed for NASA programs.

David has a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from Loyola College in Maryland.



Gary DePreta

Gary DePreta is an Operations Director for Cisco's Public Sector Named Channels Operation and has been with Cisco since November 2005. In his current position, Gary leads a team responsible for maintaining channel relationships and partner development activities with Value Added Resellers (VARs), Service Providers, and Small Business Partners within the Public Sector vertical market segment. Prior to his current role, Gary led a team responsible for maintaining all channel relationships & Networx business development activities with Federal Service Providers.

Prior to joining Cisco, Gary spent 7 years at International Network Services (INS) where his last position was Vice President and General Manager. INS is a global consulting firm specializing in helping organizations effectively use technology to achieve their business goals by enabling its clients to reduce costs, increase flexibility, strengthen security, ensure compliance and improve efficiency. In this role, Gary had responsibility for the Mid-Atlantic Operation, Federal Subsidiary, and Ethical Hacking Center of Excellence business units.

Gary began his career at IBM holding several sales and leadership positions in the Technology Services Solutions (TSS) division (now IBM Global Services) in Atlanta, GA and Gaithersburg, MD.




Michael Donovan- Chief Technologist, EDS


Michael Donovan is an enterprise architect and chief technologist with EDS, an HP company, supporting the needs of the U.S. Department of Defense. Included in this scope is responsibility for technology strategy and development in support of the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, Office of Secretary of Defense, Personnel & Readiness-Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC), Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and other defense agencies.

Most recently, Donovan was Chief Architect for the Atlas Consortium, providing the Defence Information Infrastructure (DII) to the UK Ministry of Defence. Previously, he developed and managed enterprise architectures for large organizations in the role of Chief Architect and CTO for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) and as Chief Architect for EDS' Office of the CIO.

Donovan began his career with EDS in 1986 supporting operations of mainframe systems for General Motors in Auburn Hills, Mich. He moved from there to provide technical leadership for EDS' chargeback systems for cost recovery of mainframe systems utilization. He was Chief Architect for EDS' Service Excellence systems, in use today to track delivery quality and customer satisfaction across the spectrum of EDS clients and services.

Donovan holds five U.S. patents in areas ranging from measurement of computer usage to Web-based customer satisfaction and performance measurement. EDS
