Dorobek will co-anchor Federal News Radio's afternoon drive program "Daily Debrief," along with Amy Morris, airing weekdays from 3-7 pm beginning September 15. He will also be online managing editor of the station's website, FederalNewsRadio.com.
"Chris Dorobek is a name brand in the world of federal news and information," says Federal News Radio Program Director Lisa Wolfe. "His in-depth knowledge of the marketplace combined with his easygoing manner and sense of humor make for the perfect recipe on our radio station."
Dorobek brings 15 years of industry experience to this position. As editor in chief of FCW, he was a senior team member providing editorial direction and management for FCW magazine, FCW.com, Government Health IT and its other editorial products. He also held positions as senior reporter, managing editor and executive editor at FCW.
Prior to joining FCW, Dorobek was a technology reporter at PlanetGov.com. He also spent five years at Government Computer News covering a variety of federal IT-related issues. He began his career as a reporter at the Foster's Daily Democrat, a daily newspaper in Dover, N.H. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California.
This announcement comes on the heels of last week's news that Federal News Radio is expanding to a major market signal, broadcasting on 1500 AM and 820 AM beginning September 15. The new Federal News Radio weekday programming lineup launching that day is the "Federal Drive with Tom Temin and Jane Norris" 6-10 a.m., locally-produced specialty federal programming 10 am-1 p.m., "In-Depth with Francis Rose" 1-3 p.m., and "Daily Debrief with Chris Dorobek and Amy Morris" from 3-7 pm.
The station will also feature the following federal programs: "Amtower Off Center" Mondays at noon, "Federal Tech Talk with John Gilroy" Tuesdays at 11 a.m., "Your Turn with Mike Causey" Wednesdays at 10 a.m., and "Fed Access with Derrick T. Dortch" Thursdays at noon.
Federal News Radio is also the home of play-by-play action for the Washington Nationals, Washington Capitals, Navy Athletics, and GW Men's Basketball.
