Analysis: DoD's Bob Lentz departs after 35 years of service

Federal News Radio has told you about a changing of the guard the Defense Department.

The agency's long-time chief information security officer, Robert Lentz, stepped down earlier this month after 35 years of service, including nearly a decade as DoD's cyber-security czar, if you will.

We wanted to look back at Lentz's tenure, and also look forward at the challenges ahead.

Lewis Shepherd is the chief technology officer for Microsoft's Institute for Advanced Technology in Governments.

Shepherd previously served as the senior technology officer at the Defense Intelligence Agency -- and brings us his analysis now.
