Your Host: J. David Reeves, is a native of Columbus, OH and was educated in the Columbus Public School System. He holds Bachelor of Science and Masters in Public Administration degrees, both from Bowling Green State University. He has also studied at The University of Maryland and Harvard University. He is employed at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development where he a member of the Senior Executive Service.

Mr. Reeves currently serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Real Estate Assessment Center. Prior to being selected as Deputy Assistant Secretary, he served as the Senior Adviser to the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Field Operations as well as the Director of the Public Housing Grants Management Center in the Office of Public and Indian Housing. Throughout his career, he has also served as the Director of the HUD Washington, DC Field Office, Acting Director of Public Housing and Acting Field Office Director for the HUD Los Angeles Field Office.

A life member and avid supporter of Blacks In Government he previously served as the National First Vice President, and former Vice Chairman of the National Board of Directors. In 2008, Mr. Reeves was honored to have been elected as the as the 11th National President of Blacks In Government, an advocacy organization representing more that 3.5 million African-American civilian and military employees at the Federal, State and local government levels nationwide. A recipient of numerous awards, and honors, he credits much of this success to a strong parental foundation and a lifelong belief in God.

J. David is a much sought after public speaker, trainer and clinician as well as an avid community servant, published gospel music songwriter and father of two sons, Michael and Kevin and two grandchildren, Brandon and Sarahi.
