Mike Parker is the Treasury Department’s Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO). As part of the Office of the CIO leadership team, he assists the CIO in the strategic management and direction of a broad spectrum of Information Technology (IT) programs and policies. Mr. Parker is overseeing the strategic framework for Shared Services Initiatives involving Main Treasury and all Treasury bureaus. A top priority is to increase coordination and utilization of shared services across Treasury to meet the Department’s and Federal objectives. Initiatives underway include Mobile Treasury and Strategic Sourcing for IT Acquisitions. Recently, the Office of the CIO successfully migrated the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform in support of the Data Center Consolidation Initiative.

Prior to this, Mr. Parker was the Associate CIO for the IT Strategy & Planning organization of the IRS. This organization ensures that IT products and services advance IRS strategic goals and provide greatest value. The scope of which includes strategic planning, capital planning and investment control, IT portfolio prioritization, performance measures, financial planning and execution, vendor/contract management and requirements/demand management processes, tools and procedures. Mr. Parker’s tenure at the IRS has spanned over 22 years and he held several executive positions including Director of Capital Planning and Investment Control and Director of IT Security. He also served at the Department of Treasury previously for approximately 7 years and held several executive positions. Mike began his 37 years of Federal Service at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

In his spare time, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, jogging and playing golf.
