Daniel Dougherty is the Vice President of EMC’s Federal Division. EMC is a leader in enabling government agencies to transform their operations and deliver IT as a service. Through innovative products and services, EMC accelerates the journey to cloud computing, helping IT departments to store, manage, protect and analyze their most valuable asset – information – in a more agile, trusted and cost- efficient way.

Dougherty is responsible for the general management of EMC Corporation’s Federal Business Division. In his role, he provides leadership and vision to the federal team, government contractors and partners, and federal system integrators. Dougherty is the spokesperson on “Beltway Q&A” aired on WTOP and WFED federal news radio with over 1.5 million listeners in the DC area. He represents EMC on government and industry panels on topics of emerging technologies that empower real IT transformation, such as workforce productivity and cloud-big data solutions.

Dougherty has two decades of experience managing and developing sales teams for the government and commercial sectors. As a top performer of EMC’s senior sales management team, he was chosen as a corporate ambassador to Japan to help establish change management and implement best business practices.

Dougherty serves on the USO of Metropolitan Washington Board of Directors, as well as on the TechAmerica Foundation Public Sector Board of Directors. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and earned a MBA degree from Babson College.
